Calendar of Events

Latest update: October 18, 2008

The MHC Peninsula Club has an active program of events where alumnae can enjoy meetings with old friends and new ones. If any member would like to arrange and coordinate a special meeting, we would be happy to include it in this calendar! We try to get an updated schedule out by mail to paid-up members who do not have email, but we can't afford to send mail often to everyone. So please look at this web site for details on planned events and watch your emails for new event announcements.

While most of our club's events are very low cost, we do ask that you bring a $5 donation to each event where there is not an event fee, or where none of the event cost goes to the club. We use this money to offset the costs of mailing newsletters, making name badges and all the other little things that help make a club event fun. Your help allows us to do more and continue to support the Alumnae Scholar Fund. Thank you in advance and we look forward to seeing you at the next exciting event!

Book club meetings are not listed here, so check the book club page for dates and reading selections.

Ivy Alliance Night at San Francisco Opera
Tuesday, November 18th
Ivy Alliance of San Francisco Opera invites Mount Holyoke alumnae to "The Elixir of Love" on Tuesday, November 18 at 8pm. San Francisco Opera is pleased to offer a 30% discount off regular ticket prices. To purchase tickets visit: www.sfopera.com/offer and enter: IVY9.
In "The Elixir of Love", the naïve young Nemorino, in love with the beautiful Adina, believes that a love potion will help him win her heart. This charming production re-imagines the celebration of innocence in a small Italian-American community in the heart of Napa Valley, circa 1915.
Prior to the performance, there will be a private lecture and a complimentary wine reception in the Chorus Room of the War Memorial Opera House. Participants will receive directions the week of the event.
Schedule of Events
6:30 pm – Private lecture in the Chorus room of the Opera House
     7 pm – Complimentary reception
7:30 pm – Walk to seats
8 pm – The Elixir of Love begins
SF Opera strongly suggests that orders be placed early as this performance is likely to sell out. Seating is assigned at the time of purchase and is not reserved in advance of this offer. This discount is available through the special offer web page only, not by phone or in person, and expires at midnight on November 11, 2008.

SAVE THE DATE!

Saturday, December 6th is the date for our annua, holiday luncheon.  Further details will appear in email notices and here as soon as we have them confirmed!
