Bed and Breakfast Program

The Peninsula Mount Holyoke club can arrange B & B lodging in our area, in any of several alumnae homes located from about 20 miles south of San Francisco to the Carmel/Monterey area. Accommodations are not elaborate! A full or continental breakfast is included. Mount Holyoke students, alumnae, their immediate families, plus faculty and staff of the College are eligible to participate as guests. Mount Holyoke College benefits not only by the money the program raises, but also by the goodwill this service engenders and the strengthening of ties among alumnae.

The B&B program is for short-term overnights (1, 2 or 3 nights), not lengthy visits. Arrangements should be made through Marilyn Bauriedel by email to babamarilyn@gmail.com or by phone at (650) 493-1364. Please contact her well in advance, since each B&B hostess needs at least a week’s advance notice/reservation and may decline if inconvenient. An advance deposit may be required, and a 24-hour cancellation notice is expected.

Cost is $35 for a single or $60 for a couple. However, we especially welcome current students who are applying for jobs or graduate school in this area, and will offer much lower rates for students.  Payment is by check payable to MHC Club of the Peninsula, and it will go to the Alumnae Scholar Fund. Current IRS codes/laws indicate that these services are not tax-deductible for either the guest/visitor or hostess/homeowner. We advise seeking your own tax advice regarding any such deductions.
